Become a Youth Official

So you want to become a youth official. Here's what you need to do.

1. Create/Update your USLacrosse membership. You'll also need your ULacrosse membership number, so keep that handy.

What if I already have a membership because I am a player  or coach?

You'll need to update your account to include your role as an official.  Go to the USLacrosse Website

What if I don't have a membership at all?

You'll need to go to USLacrosse and register as an offical.

2. Register as an official with the Colorado Youth Lacrosse Association (CYLA).

3. Attend in the Classroom Training. This training is offered once a year and covers rules, positioning and mechanics. If you cannot make the in-seat training date, an online option will be available.

4. Participate in the on-field training.  there are several youth scrimmages available where you'll be able to put into practive the mechanics you learn in the classroom.

5. Pass the USL Youth Rules test.

Become a Youth Official

We're excited you want to join us by becoming a youth official!  There are a few steps you need to take in order to ensure that you are registered in the correct places.

1. Create/Update your USLacrosse membership. You'll also need your ULacrosse membership number for step 1, so keep that handy. There is a $50 fee for new members to USLacrosse. In addition to other benefits, this comes with a yearly subscription to their magazine, Lacrosse Magazine.  More importantly, members includes you under the blanket insurance policy of USLacrosse.
