Becoming a High School Ref

Step 1
Register on this website
If you haven't done so already, you'll need to create an account on this website. Once you do that, you'll be able to pay your dues, attend the online training and participate in the online discussion boards.  [CLICK HERE] for instructions.
Step 2
Pay your CHSAA/RMLOA dues
Our annual dues are $60/ year. This fee includes CHSAA registration, national insurance fees. You need to have an account on this website in order to have access to pay your dues, so make sure you complete Step 1 first!  [CLICK HERE] for instructions on how to pay your dues.
Step 3
Attend the classroom and online training sessions
We have both in-person and online training opportunities. This training covers NHFS rules, rules inforcement, positioning and game mechanics and situational analysis. In addition, there are a few preseason, on-field training opportunities for you to get your feet wet in actual game situations.  [CLICK HERE] to see the complete 2012 training schedule.
Step 4
Pass the 2012 NHFS Rules test
This is required for all CHSAA officials. We administer the exam online. You must score an 80% or better to pass the test. The test is usually administered in late February. We have an online classroom that will prepare you for the test. In addition you can go online to the Forum and discuss rules and game scenarios with other officials.

Set your sheduling availablity in Arbiter
Aribiter is our online scheduling software. You input the dates you can or can't work. At the assignment draw, area assignors will assign you to games based on your skill level and availability. You will receive an email with information about how to access Arbiter and set your schedule.

Dues

PayPal LogoIn an effort to speed up and streamline the registration process, all payment of dues will be handled directly to the RMLOA.  You'll are now able to pay your dues by credit/debit card on the website using PayPal. 

How do I pay my dues?

  • If you haven't already, you'll need to create an account on this website. Be sure to confirm the registration with the link in your email.
  • Once your account is created, log in using the "LOGIN" link in the toolbar.
  • After you've logged in, go to the "My Profile" link in the upper right hand section of the website.
  • Click on the "Memberships" tab to view the options to pay your dues.

Account Information

Contact Information  The RMLOA has moved to an online user management system.  Beginning in Fall 2011, we'll be using the website to keep track of all RMLOA members.

What do I need to do?

1. Update your contact information on this website.

If you have already registered on this website ... just click on the "LOGIN" link in the toolbar above.  If you've forgotten your username and/or password, you can retrieve them using the "Forgot Login?" link.  You'll need the email address you used when you originally registered.  Once you log in to this website, you can edit your contact information by going to the "My Profile" link in top right of the website.

If you have never registered on this website ... click on the "LOGIN" link in the toolbar. You'll see an option to "Register." Fill out the information there.  A confirmation email will be sent to you using the email address you used to create the account. You'll need to click on the link provided in order to active your account.

2. Keep your contact information up-to-date on Arbiter.

Arbiter is our online assigning software. You'll need to update your schedule availability and your contact information on their website, too. This is so that assignors can contact your directly about game assignments, contracts and payment.

You will receive an Arbiter account once you've registered on this site and paid your RMLOA/CHSAA dues.
